Founder & Head Coach
Qing Peng (Jessica) is the Founder and Head Coach of Jessica Swim School. A former member of the Chinese National Swimming Team, Jessica spent 13 years training and competing at the highest levels of age-group and national swimming.
In 1994, she represented China at the World Junior Swimming Championships, earning a Gold Medal in the 4×100m Medley Relay, a Silver Medal in the 200m Individual Medley, and a Bronze Medal in the 400m Freestyle. Her personal best performances included 2:20 in the 200m Individual Medley and 4:59 in the 400m Individual Medley.
Jessica holds Swimming Canada’s NCCP Fundamentals Coach Certification and has over 10 years of coaching experience in Canada. Throughout her coaching career, she has worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities, helping children develop confidence in the water while building strong technical foundations.
Her coaching philosophy emphasizes body position, balance, coordination, and efficient movement. Jessica believes that long-term success in swimming begins with mastering the fundamentals and developing a deep understanding of how the body moves through the water.
She is passionate about creating a positive learning environment where swimmers can develop both technical skills and a lifelong love for the sport.
Meet the Team
Erin Russell
Erin brings more than 35 years of coaching experience and is widely recognized as one of Ontario’s most accomplished technical swimming coaches.
As a former Canadian National Champion in sprint freestyle, Erin represented Canada at numerous national and international competitions. She earned a Bronze Medal at the World Student Games and enjoyed a successful varsity career at the University of Toronto, where she became a CIAU National Champion and received recognition as both Rookie of the Year and Athlete of the Week.
Over the course of her coaching career in Canada, the United States, and Spain, Erin has developed swimmers at every level of the sport, from Age Group athletes to Provincial, National, and International competitors. Her athletes have earned numerous championship titles and have set regional, provincial, and national records.
Erin has coached at multiple national and international competitions and has contributed to the development of Olympic-level athletes, including finalists at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Known for her exceptional technical expertise and attention to detail, Erin specializes in stroke development, race preparation, and long-term athlete progression. She is highly respected within the swimming community for helping swimmers maximize their potential through technically sound and efficient swimming.
Lucy L.
Student Coach
Lucy is a dedicated Student Coach and competitive swimmer with several years of competitive swimming experience. As an active athlete, she understands the importance of strong fundamentals, consistent practice, and a positive mindset in developing swimming skills.
Lucy holds her Bronze Medallion certification and is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment for young swimmers. She enjoys helping children build confidence in the water, improve their technique, and develop a love for swimming.
As both a swimmer and coach, Lucy brings enthusiasm, patience, and energy to every lesson. She works closely with younger swimmers, providing encouragement and guidance while helping them develop the skills needed to progress through their swimming journey.
Lucy believes that learning to swim should be both fun and rewarding, and she strives to ensure that every swimmer feels supported, motivated, and successful in the water.
