Frequently Asked Questions
Swimming Related
Q: What age group is best to start swimming training?
A: It is more suitable to start swimming training at the age of 4 to 5. The children at this time basically understand the adults' instructions and can conduct basic conversations, so they will give feedback and imitate the instructions and actions of the coach. In addition, kids around this age have not truly feared water, but this fear might increase as they get older.
Q: When is the best time to lead your children into the water?
A: The best time period is when children learn to walk. At that time, kids are more active and like to move around. The resistance to walking in the water is relatively greater than that on the land. This will increase the communication between kids and the water to make them not afraid of water. It can also increase their leg strength so that they can learn to walk as soon as possible.
Q: What should I pay attention to about eating before swimming?
A: Do not eat gas-producing and non-digestible foods such as rice, milk, etc. for half an hour before swimming; it will likely cause children to vomit and discomfort. It is recommended to eat noodles/bread and other digestible foods before swimming. Overeating should also be avoided.
Q: Which swimming strokes are taught to begin with?
A: We teach swimming starting from alternating freestyle and backstroke, because the aquatic posture of freestyle and backstroke is the closest to the body's state of relaxation and balance in the water. This order of teaching let children start from learning to breathe out in the water in the most relaxed state.
Q: What items do I need to bring to class?
A: Swimsuit or swimming trunks, swimming goggles, swimming cap, slippers, towels and toiletries.
Q: What should I do if I get water in my ears
A: Water getting into ears is a common problem in swimming. You can continue to press the tragus with your palm or pull the auricle with your fingers, or repeatedly open your mouth, making the external ear canal move around continuously, or change the stability of the water barrier and the stability of the pressure so that the water flows outward from the external ear canal. Or you can also simply jump on one foot and let the water directly flow out from the ear.
